Writer’s Blo(g)ck

Blogs are not so easy to keep up with when not following a specific topic.  I think I’ve started at least 4 blog posts in the last year but with jobs, school, and now a ton of house projects, none have seen the light of day.  It’s much easier for us to use Facebook and Instagram to show our friends and family what we are doing and how we are moving forward with Leaf and Feather Farms.  That’s not to say I don’t want to continue blog writing, but now is not that time.  All my writing energy is going towards my Capstone Project to complete my Masters of Science in Resilient and Sustainable Communities from Prescott College.  And I’m almost done!  This 70+ page document is a deep dive into everything we want to do at L&FF.  I’ve spent over 6 months compiling relevant schoolwork, academic research, local resources, and all of John and my ideas, hopes, and dreams into a document that will give us the information we need to create a business plan and strategize our work going forward.  It is broken down into 4 chapters:  land management, accommodations, education, and community.  As I hope to graduate in May, I’ve got about a month to finish it all.  So blog, you must wait a bit longer, but we’ll be back to nurture and tend to you soon.

  2. Just saw your HGTV episode. I wish you all sorts of luck. I too live in SE Michigan, so am interested in what you develop on your property. I hope your December bird walk went well! I also hope you graduated in May and are on to implementing your business plan!
